Jallianwala Bagh
History :
The garden of Jallian or Jallianwala Bagh was gifted by Maharaja Ranjit Singh to residents of Jalla village.
April 6 :
India leaders called for protests against Rowlatt Act.
April 10 :
20 people were killed while crossing a railway bridge. This angered people and some Europeans were killed.
April 11 :
Brigadier-General Reginald Dyer was handed Amritsar's Law & Order
April 13 :
Thousands of people gathered in Jallianwala Bagh on the occasion of Baisakhi. Dyer arrived at the Bagh with 50 soldiers, armed with .303 Lee-Enfield bolt-action rifles & fired on the people.
March 13 1940 :
Revolutionary Udham Singh shot former lieutenant governor of British Punjab, Sir Michael O'Dwyer dead.

* 1000+ number of casualities
